Continuing along the line of the above topic and from the preceding post, the following amazing incident of God obliging!
My son had been living with me for a two year transition period of time. The conclusion of this period of time came as a surprise when he suddenly moved out . . .
I made the discovery one Sunday afternoon when I noticed that he had already started moving out – his “normal” program consisted of spending time with friends and colleagues, coming and going . . .
As I started digesting this situation (as it came without any warning), I suddenly had the unction or perceived that a father was about to pass away . . . and I realized that I would be travelling very early the following day out of the city to a mine in a far-out rural area and I wondered whether it could have been an advance warning associated with myself . . . I started praying into the matter.
I immediately called my son and requested us meeting face-to-face before the evening came to an end, so that we at least go our separate ways in a proper manner. He came and we had a good chat, prayed together and we parted in a loving, amicable & peaceful way
After he left I specifically started cleaning out the kitchen to ensure that any old food items were discarded of. I specifically made a mental note to buy a litre of fresh milk upon my return the following afternoon. Contrary to my nature, I did not make the customary note in this regard!
The separation event left me in a fairly emotionally unsettled place, so I did not sleep well that night. By 5am the next morning I was already on the road travelling. Halfway to the mine, I joined my colleague Colin (from the previous post) and travelled the rest of the journey with him, leaving my vehicle at a roadside Petro Port. At the mine we joined another colleague, Jeanne, for our scheduled mid-morning meeting.
After the meeting we went to a steak house in the nearby town to have lunch. As we sat down, Jeanne received a call and went outside the restaurant. When he came back we saw that something was wrong. He reported that his dad had just passed away. We were immediately able to support him. As Colin’s dad had also passed away some time before this, we agreed that it would be appropriate for him to join Jeanne in his vehicle consoling and supporting him as we drove back. This would be for the portion of the journey until Jeanne had to go his own way to his home in another town.
When we reached the point where Jeanne had to go his own way (at the same Petro Port where my vehicle was parked), Colin suggested that we drive with Jeanne to his home (another 120km) – which we did.
We then back-tracked all the way to the Petro Port and I got my vehicle. And so the remainder of the homeward bound journey continued for us . . . each obviously deeply immersed in his own thoughts, pondering over the experiences of the day.
By now, the day had been far spent . . . . much farther than I originally planned or anticipated! And my energy levels were fairly depleted. So for much of the rest of my trip, I was driving on “auto-pilot”. . . with very little of current affairs or own chores on my mind.
As I drove past a particular landmark close to my townhouse, where I had another significant encounter previously with The Lord, I just thanked Him for His faithfulness of the day and for His protection . . .
As I came within 300m from my townhouse, as clear as if someone else spoke audibly in my vehicle, I heard on my inside the word: “Milk?” I literally gasped for air! WHAT?!? This happened before the major intersection ahead of my townhouse where I had the choice of going to 2 separate shops to buy fresh milk! Perfect Timing!
I immediately knew that He had spoken this to me. And that He spoke this without me having asked Him to remind me! He did this on His own volition!! I never got to write the shopping list! I immediately started thanking and praising Him in my heavenly language!
As I arrived at the one shop, there was a renewed energy in me as I walked in. And that litre of milk had absolutely no choice of being Divinely blessed or not!! It received the abundance and overflow of His best blessings!!
And in total awe, amazement and wonderment about Him, I meditated the rest of that evening on His amazing Goodness, Kindness and Faithfulness!!
And so it brought me to the place where again I contemplated: WILL GOD NOT OBLIGE? If He did this for me without me even asking for it, how much more will He oblige when we ask Him with childlike faith for His Assistance in any matter? He truly is the God and Lord of intricate detail!
Truly, is anything too big or too much for the Lord? Is He too busy to attend to other people’s prayers and requests and managing the Universe? Is He unable to do what we consider menial and small? Because you are His child, everything important to you and your well-being, He considers as very important . . . because YOU ARE HIS!! Please also be assured that He receives your prayers as incense in the Golden censer before His Throne and will therefore listen to it!
So when next you hesitate at asking Him something seemingly small, ask yourself afresh: WILL GOD NOT OBLIGE? Then BOLDLY ask Him!
